Mode EVA AT-Field
The AT-Field is a force field that acts like a shield and protects the Eva against attacks. This shield reflects any projectiles that would hit the front of the player in a 90-degree arc. In other words, if you can see your opponent, the shield will block his attacks. Thus it’s always a good strategy to attack the opponents from behind, the Eva’s weak spot.
In Evarena, the player disposes of 3 different AT-Field configuration Modes. At any time the player can switch between these modes.

Normal (EVA Normal)
In Normal Mode, the power is well balanced between all aspects. The player can move at middle speed, he jumps at a middle height and the AT-Field absorbs half of the damage.

Racing (EVA Full Power)
In Racing Mode, all the power available is given to the legs. The Eva runs really fast and jumps really (I mean REALLY) high. But the shield is completely deactivated, which leaves the Eva open to all attacks.

Shield (AT-Field Full Power)
This mode is the opposite of the Racing Mode. All the power is delivered to the AT-Field. The shield is strong enough to completely absorb all damage coming from the front. Not only does the AT-Field defend the player but it also reflects the attacks, which allows the player to throw the projectiles back at your opponent. This mode has a strong disadvantage though, the player can’t move nor jump while in Shield mode; he can only pivot upon himself. Only one weapon can get through the shield, the Lance of Longinus.

It’s important to understand that while running on the Battery, the Racing and Shield modes require much more energy than Normal Mode. The Battery Time then switches from 5 to 1 minute.
